If you start the date with short answers and minimum eye contact, it wouldn't matter what you look like. If he thinks you don't find him interesting, some small part of his brain says, "Don't waste your time," and from that point on, all he sees are your flaws.

I'll assume you're an adult and responsible for yourself. We're not in high school anymore. Fucking on a first date will not give you a reputation. It's up to you. If those pics are really you, you have no problem with physical attractiveness. If you are attracted to "the wrong ones," it means you don't want a long relationship, and always make sure each new relationship comes with a self destruct button. The man who is stable, both emotionally and financially will appear boring. What you see as boring is actually him politely backing away. The emotionally & financially stable man has seen enough crazy and knows how to avoid, no matter how good it looks.
